Lead Source Overview
Lead sources are created and managed within Company Settings (permission required).
A sales lead source is the specific channel, platform, or method through which a potential customer first learns about a business or its products/services. Examples include social media ads, search engine results, referrals from existing customers, trade shows, or direct mail. Tracking lead sources is crucial for understanding which marketing efforts are most effective, allowing businesses to refine strategies, optimize marketing spend, and improve their return on investment (ROI).

Import lead sources
Click this to import lead sources from a global list or any of your Companies.
Swap lead source
Click this to change, or swap out, the lead source for another within any project the original lead source is linked to. User must have "Has executive authority" permission.

Details
These are the high-level details for the Lead Source.

Name (required)
The name of the lead source.
Category (required)
This is a global category for the lead source which allows similar lead sources to be grouped together. The category assist with reporting. Lead source categories are global and cannot be added to or changed.
Description (optional)
An optional description for the Lead Source. It is always helpful to add a description letting Users know how this Lead Source is used and what it is intended for.
Status (required)
This is the status of the Lead Source. Only active Lead Sources can be assigned to Projects.
Code (optional)
An optional code for the Lead Source.
Cost (optional)
An optional cost for the Lead Source. This field intended to store general cost information pertaining to the lead source. Additional cost information can be entered into the Description.
Start / End Dates (optional)
Sometimes Lead Sources are part of a campaign that may expire at some point and these dates display the time interval in which the Lead Source is valid. Currently, these dates are for informational purposes only and do not affect when a Lead Source is available for use.
New Project Use
Lead Sources are required to create a Project.

Existing Project Use
Lead Sources can be changed within the Project Details of a Project.

Reports
Lead Source performance can be analyzed within the Lead Source Report, the Master List, and various other reports.
