Task Overview

A Task is a piece of work to be done or undertaken by.

Examples:

Get color choices from customer

Pick up check

Pick up excess materials

Email/Mail Estimate to Homeowner

Let H.O. know inspection has been set

Please schedule time to pic up deductible and I'll get over there to do so and take after pics.

Provide Payment Info/Instructions to Admin via Jetstream

A Task can be assigned to a User or a Team. If assigned to a Team, each Team Member has access to the Task.

Most Tasks are generated automatically via either an Alert or within a Workflow Milestone. However, manually created Tasks fill in the gaps and more direct.

Alerts (future Notifications) are "when this specific thing happens, generate a task for User/Team"

When a Milestone becomes active, any designed task gets automatically assigned to a User (per the design of the milestone). And that Workflow cannot advance until all Milestone tasks have been completed or bypassed.

Task Notes

Some Tasks, are not simple and require work and days to complete. Users use Task Notes to document the activity that led up to the completion of the Task.

The Task Notes also document any changes that occur with tasks.

For instance, a Task may have a due date, but may it's taken longer than expected, therefore the User would extend the due date, which should be documented.

A lot of times Tasks get reassigned to another User/Team, again which warrants documentation.
