Manufacturer Overview

A Manufacturer (also called a “make”) is the brand that makes a material — GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, and so on. Every material in your catalog can be assigned a Manufacturer, which is how products are grouped and identified by brand. A Manufacturer is not the same as a Supplier (the company you buy from) — you might buy the same manufacturer’s products from several suppliers.

Why it matters: assigning materials to a manufacturer keeps your catalog organized by brand and makes it easy to see everything you carry from a given maker.

Getting started

  1. From the Manufacturers list, click Add Manufacturer and enter a Company name (start typing to reuse a known brand from the global manufacturer library). A Shortened display name is handy for tight columns.
  2. Assign materials to the manufacturer from the Materials catalog.
