Material Trades & Mapping

These are the trades the material is related to. Trades help categorize materials within Estimates and Orders.

In addition, a Trade Custom Field can be assigned, which automates quantity values within Estimates and Orders

In the above Material example, a "Roofing" Trade Custom Field called "Total Roof Area" is assigned to this material. Therefore, whenever this Material is used within an Estimate Item, the quantity for the item will be the value for "Total Roof Area". If there is a default conversion for the Material, the "Total Roof Area" value will be adjusted using the the default conversion criteria.

In the above Estimate example, the value for "Total Roof Area" is 5100 (SF). When the Material is used within an Estimate Item, the default conversion labeled "SF to SQ Custom data +10% RU" will adjust the quantity.

( 5100 SF / 100 SF/SQ ) = 51 SQ

51 SQ x 1.1 upsize = 56.1 SQ

Round Up to nearest whole number: 56.1 SQ => 57 SQ
