Invoice Items

Invoice items are line items on sales forms that represent services your business provides, such as labor, consulting, or professional fees. They are used to track services you charge customers for or services you purchase from vendors, like subcontractor work.


Quick Invoice Item Setup (QuickBooks Online)

If you are connected to QuickBooks Online, you can easily import your QuickBooks Invoice Items into Contractors Cloud. See the QuickBooks section below.


Invoice Item Interface

Details

These are the high-level details for the Invoice Item.

Name (required)

The unique name for the Invoice Item. If the Invoice Item already exists in QuickBooks, it is important to match the name exactly.


Type

The type of the Invoice Item (i.e. Service, Inventory, Non-Inventory).


Is Default

If checked, this item will be the default item when quick adding items to an Invoice.


Default as Negative Number

If checked, any amount using this item will be negative. This is meant for discount type items.


Is Taxable

If checked, the Invoice Item will automatically be marked taxable when used in an Invoice.


Default quantity

This will be the default quantity when adding this item to an Invoice. This is only applicable if "Include Quantities and Rates within Invoice Lines" is checked within Company Settings, Invoice Settings.


Default rate amount

This will be the default dollar amount when adding this item to an Invoice.


Income Account

The sales based Financial Account. See Financial Accounts.


Expense Account

The purchase based Financial Account. See Financial Accounts.


Status (required)

This is the status of the Invoice Item. Only active Invoice Items can be assigned to invoices.


Description (optional)

An optional description for the  Invoice Item.



Log Entries

This section contains log entries documenting changes to the Invoice Item.



QuickBooks

This shows QuickBooks data related to the Invoice Item.

Invoices

A list of invoices currently using this Invoice Item.



Utilities

This is where a Invoice Item is deleted. A Invoice Item can not be deleted if it is currently being used.
